About

Joseph is a working writer and professional classical singer living on the North side of Chicago. Joseph just finished a Master of Theological Studies degree from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in 2016, studying with noted theologians such as Stephen Ray, Nancy Bedford, and Anne Joh. He is active at his home church of First Congregational Church of Evanston UCC, where he serves on the church’s Open and Affirming committee for LGBTQ outreach. Joseph is the Chair of the FCCE’s Faith In Action team, a local affiliate of the Community Renewal Society, a Chicago faith-based community organizing non-profit dedicated to tackling violence in Chicago neighborhoods, removing barriers to employment for those with criminal records, and providing resources to member churches to teach about privilege, power, and activism.
